ADA Lab was born from a vision to create a nurturing space where women in creative technologies can excel, inspired by the pioneering spirit of Ada Lovelace, the world's first programmer.

Onnie, the founder of ADA Lab, was motivated by a deep belief in education’s transformative power. Her childhood, marked by the loss of her father, was shaped by her mother’s unwavering strength and innovative approach to education. Witnessing her mother’s ability to turn grief into a legacy of opportunity ignited Onnie’s own commitment to empowering women.

Her experiences at Yale and the University of Adelaide fueled her passion for immersive media technologies and revealed a significant gender imbalance in the field. This realisation became a turning point for Onnie.

Determined to create opportunities rather than wait for them, Onnie envisioned ADA Lab as a space where women could access cutting-edge technology, receive specialised training, and forge their own paths. ADA Lab is dedicated to providing the tools and support women need to shine. Through our interactive digital playground, ADA Ex, and a commitment to showcasing women’s talents, ADA Lab stands as a testament to the belief that with the right support, women can lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact in the creative technology world.
